Postnatal Yoga: Strength in Numbers

Often times, new mamas feel isolated. Almost 3 ½ years ago now, I remember feeling unsure of my abilities as a new mom and unsure about what the heck was going on with my postpartum body. I certainly didn’t feel in-tune with my body; in fact, my body didn’t even feel like it was my own anymore! Finding a community was hard; finding a place where I could feel comfortable talking about how crazy it all was, was even harder.


The Postnatal yoga class at East Side Yoga is designed to restore your body’s strength after having a baby. It’s also a time for sharing with your fellow mamas and making new friendships (and playdates!).


Maybe you don’t feel like sharing, maybe you just feel like coming in and moving your body. That’s fine!


Maybe you feel like coming in to talk with the other mamas and be gentle with your body. That’s also fine!


Maybe you can’t make it to class and have questions – East Side Yoga has a new Facebook community group that you can join, and ask the prenatal/postnatal teachers questions, or you can reach out to the other mamas in the group. It’s such a great way to keep in touch with the mamas you’ve met in Prenatal Yoga and continue those friendships after baby arrives. It’s also a way to simply stay connected, which I think is one of the most important things you can do for yourself as a new mama.


We want to meet you where YOU are, as you figure out how to:

  • Navigate motherhood (no easy task!)

  • Locate and work your abdominals (what are those muscles again?) and,

  • Balance your mama-related commitments and the desire for much-needed self-care.

Come visit East Side Yoga and let us provide you with an hour every week for you to breathe, release, and refresh, so you can be the most rockin’ mamas out there!

Sundays (Just for Mamas): 1:00pm (60-min)
